Meet the Staff
Tasha Pettis-Bonds is a Saint Louis, native, graduate of Rosati Kain High School and University of Missouri. After 20+ years in bank leadership, she now serves as the Executive Director of Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis Women’s Business Center. Tasha has been recognized for her excellence in supporting change within communities in the Saint Louis market, with over 30 years of volunteer and board work. Additionally, Tasha is the mother of a blended family of 7.
Alicia Chestnut was born and raised in South City, Saint Louis and graduated from Fontbonne University by way of Alabama A&M University. Alicia started her banking career a little bit shy of 17 years ago. Throughout her professional banking career, she was able to gain experience in all areas of the financial industry. From processing corporate home loan to servicing retirement accounts, Alicia found her passion in empowering her community with Financial Education and community development. As the Assistant Director, Alicia is extremely excited about working with the team and clients in providing advice, guidance and solutions for our small business entrepreneurs.
Beverly earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Biology at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. For two years, she worked with Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, serving Loyola High School as a teacher, assistant counselor, and magazine editor. Beverly loves yoga, running, and hiking, is a strong advocate for self-care, and is always on the search for another great vegan restaurant or coffee shop in St. Louis. Originally hailing from a family of small business owners in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Beverly has quickly invested herself in the St. Louis community. She loves managing our social media platforms while also working with our clients to offer a holistic small business support to meet their unique entrepreneurial goals.
Elissa received her Bachelor’s in Criminology & Criminal Justice and Master’s degree in Education from the University of Missouri- Saint Louis. Additionally, she received her MBA from Webster University in 2018. Elissa has always had a passion for helping underserved communities through community service and engagement. Having worked in higher education for the past 5.5 years, Elissa understands the importance of customer service and meeting the needs of our clients. Additionally, Elissa is a certified fitness instructor and personal trainer; however, much of her focus now is on her own small business. As a Program Coordinator, Elissa is excited to work with like-minded, small business owners in achieving their goals and full potential.
